Our programs

PTSD Service Dogs

Asista's PTSD service dog division was founded in late 2012 where we place these dogs with veterans, first responders, children and adults.

Autism Service Dogs

After years of known research, Asista launched its program to support children with autism and their families.

Specialty Service Dogs

Service dogs give individuals with impairments a greater autonomy. Our specialty service dogs help people with severe generalized anxiety disorder. The candidate is evaluated on a case by case basis.

Facility Service Dogs

A trained Facility Dog works with a specialized handler in their chosen field, building on canine – human partnerships. The Facility Dog has a set of skills and tasks aiding in intervention for their chosen professional practice.

MEET OUR NEWEST AMBASSADOR NICK SUZUKI

We’re thrilled to welcome Nick Suzuki as part of the Asista family. Through his professional experience, he has been able to witness the various challenges of people affected by a mental health condition. The young hockey player and animal lover is confident that his participation will raise awareness, promote the cause to the public and have a meaningful impact in the community.

The “A Hero Within All of Us” campaign highlights the influence and power we all have in positively changing lives through actions and support.

Becoming a Foster Family

Foster families play a key role in the foundation. A foster family is a family who houses and welcomes a service dog in training into their house for a period of 6 months or less. After the 6 months the canine will begin a specialized training to then be integrated into their new household in need.
